A third Cockatoo species also inhabits the Lyon Arboretum rainforest. It is much smaller then Cacatua moluccensis or Cacatua alba and only several of these birds are found in the area. Goffin's Corella native range is very limited being found on only two islands in the Tanimbar group of Indonesia. They are considered to be near-threatened and their wild populations have been reduced because of excessive trapping for the live-bird trade and loss of habitat. As of 2003, none of the Cockatoo species are listed on Oahu are on the official Checklist of the Birds of Hawaii.
