Fabulous birding plus
Michael, thanks so much for the coastal birding tour. I'm delighted to have seen some new birds, and my mom and sister very much enjoyed not only the birding, but the history, geology and botanical tour topics! We all enjoyed making your acquaintance and having a lovely tour of the south of Oahu. Mahalo, Susan

Very productive day
Hi Michael, Today after our tour at Kaneohe, Tanya and I met up with Randi to look for forest birds. We did see leiothrix and shama. Up at her spot we had several exquisite looks at both male and female Oahu Amikihi! They were feeding hard on Schefflera inflorescences, giving protracted unobstructed views in great light. The Schefflera were attracting many species for our viewing pleasure. Randi represented your company extremely well! She is knowledgeable, especially about the target birds, friendly, and persistent. Like you, she added much to our experience with facts and anecdotes giving scientific underpinning to our birding. We learned still more about plants, culture, geology, and bird research (concerning both introduced and native forest birds) in addition to what we had already learned from you. Counting races, we had 46 types of birds seen on Oahu, with 2 more on the heard-only list ( the elepaio and a Japanese bush-warbler at the bike path at Kaneohe, about 50 meters in on the pond side of the path). Thanks again for making our stay on Oahu such a productive, fun-filled, and educational one! We will drop you a note when we get home letting you know how our continuing Hawaiian adventure went on the other two islands. With best regards Tom and Tanya S.

Outstanding days of birds, nature, geology, culture, and history!
Hi Michael, Thanks so much for a couple of outstanding days of birds, nature, geology, culture, and history! You are not only knowledgable, but also personable and engaging. Tanya is not easily impressed, but you won her over. We are VERY pleased with the experiences you offered. We will call Randi as soon as we are finished with our base tour. Thanks also for the google map. We are running over to Makapu'u Pt early tomorrow am. We will let you know how the rest of our trip goes. If it is as good as Oahu, we'll be in the cream!
