#17A Kayak Guided Tour

Tour Highlights

Trained Naturalist

Calm-reef protected waters

Vibrant with Sea Life

Beautiful Sandy Beach

Green Sea Turtles

Paddling instruction

Picturesque offshore islands

12 species of seabirds

This paddling tour takes place on the calm-reef protected waters of Kailua Bay, Oahu. One of our trained Naturalists will guide you along this beautiful coastal area to several close offshore islets. Along the way, you will see our most important resident, the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle. Your guide, well-versed in Hawaiian history, marine life, and our island's geological formations will tell stories and impart thought provoking information about Hawaii that most visitors would love to hear about.

You will be landing your safe and stable sit-on-top kayak on one of the two, world famous beaches (Kailua or Lanikai) for some snorkeling with our tropical fish and turtles. Your guide is also a master paddler and instructor so you will learn the fun and safe way to paddle your kayak. If you choose to, our guide will even teach you how to catch a few waves.

You’ll also stop at several of our close offshore islands which will include swimming and relaxing on white sandy beaches while sea and shore birds flock overhead and nest near-by. The windward coast of Oahu has over 12 varieties of seabirds inhabiting this flourishing coastline. While on the island you will gently trek to natural pools or a breath-taking cove. This will be a day enjoyed by all.

Please note that there will now be a "State Bird Sanctuary Access Fee" of $5.00 per person charged at the store in addition to the price of the tour. This fee helps to protect the local ecosystem so that our seabirds can flourish.

 Additional Notes:

Please include the name and weight of each passenger in the special notes sections during the checkout process.

Passengers weighing in excess of 200 pounds will be assigned a different Kayak.  It is important to know which ones we will reserve for you.

Kevin, our tour guide for the 4-5 hour kayak and snorkeling tour on Kailua Bay, is da' man!!!! He is the resident expert of the Mokulua Islands in Kailua Bay and of the Bay itself. He is the master of safety and makes absolutely sure no one gets hurt regardless of skill level. If you're taking the 4-5 hour kayak tour on Kailua Bay, Kevin is da' man.

Twogood Kayaks had excellent service for their $125.00 package. It included shuttle pick from out hotel, Outrigger On the Reef in Waikiki, and the drive to Kailua in the windside of Oahu was scenic. The friendly staff in the Twogood Kayak headquarters in Kailua was friendly and fast. They fitted us after payment with our snorkel gear, life jacket, lunch, and a dry bag for everything. We took off at a different spot because of the winds and kayaked to the Mokulua Islands, specifically Moku Nui which is the island on the left. We scaled the lava rocks/cliffs and jumped off a 20 foot lava cliff into a pool tide!!! So unexpected... WE HAD A BLAST!!!! Kevin even took pics of us jumping off the cliff....

Read all the reviews of Twogood Kayaks. This is absolutely the BEST outfitter for Kailua Bay for kayaking and everything else under the sun. Kevin is a great referral for everything else on the island since he's from Oahu. He recommends budget friendly restaurants and makes a mean Vietnamese coffee on Lanikai Beach.

This is my very first 5-star rating on yelp... don't forget to book with Twogood Kayaks in Oahu, HI.

Had a blast
Such a blast of a day. THANK YOU JOHN! I cannot say enough good things about our experience. John was our guide on our small group (3 of us and two other couples). This was a mixed group- us, the loud and crazy and athletic ones who could kayak around the island and be ready for more. There was an elderly couple with a rather opinionated and grumpy wife. And a kind 30 year old married couple who did not know how to swim and liked to be by themselves (who can blame them, its hawaii!). John made sure we all had a bitchin time. The old people got lots of time to take pictures and such. The younger couple got to have snorkeling in shallow waters and be semi-secluded. John let us go around and snorkel in the deeper outer reefs. Best part, John took us out to a jumping cliff and we all jumped off the cliffs (except for the older group who he tastefully did not visit)! So scary and fun. Not stressed on it at all- John clearly knew his stuff. Be warned that the pace is not fast. You need to unload and reload your kayak which was a bit of a challenge and weird. Actually really weird. But understandable. They are not really allowed to do commercial activity at the beach. But it was all doable and there will be someone there who can help you. Kayaks are the good kind that don't flip over. Just go and have fun.

Thanks Kevin
Kevin was an AMAZING tour guide. I'm not a water person nor do I ever do activities that require upper body strength, BUT I wanted to try something new and different since I was in HAWAII!

Anyway, Kevin helped me (and others) w/EVERYTHING:
- dragged my kayak when I wasn't able to paddle (not everyone, just me and one other person)
- gave me a jacket b/c I was freezing on the island
- assisted w/the rocks when hiking thru difficult places
- made us coffee/tea after snorkeling b/c it was cold that day
- BEST PART was when he made me SMILE when I was about to GIVE UP
